My goal is to take an excellent photograph, and when I accomplish that, my goal will be to take another...and another.
My first camera was a black plastic box with a viewfinder on top that was handed down from an older sister. I used that camera to annoy my family, my dog and the other neighborhood kids. I used the money I earned from my paper route to pay for film development.
Years later, most of the photos I took of my kids were taken with a 35mm Fujica. I favored black and white film back then and did most of the darkroom work myself. When that camera was stolen I was so disappointed that I lost my enthusiasm for photography for a long time.
I decided to give photography another try about three years ago. Since that time I have spent many hours reading and attending classes to further develop my skills. Thanks to the Metro Camera Club, I've picked up a wealth of information since joining two and one half years ago. I still have much to learn and I intend to continue striving to improve.
