OF THE MONTH
The Metro Camera Club was founded in 1977. The aim of the Metro Camera Club, a non-profit organization, shall be the enjoyment, mastery, and furtherance of photography through cooperation, effort, and good fellowship. It's our hope that if you enjoy photography, you will enjoy associating with us. We are presently over 100 members and offer education, competition and fun.
We share our knowledge by joining in group activities that allow us to share our experiences. There is a broad range of skill levels within the group and through sharing, we are able to achieve higher degrees of technical and artistic ability. Through these activities we hope to nurture the ability to "see" and to share our interest in photography as a form of artistic expression. Monthly competition is used as the structure for learning, sharing, and challenging ourselves in our hobby. Members are not required to submit images for competition, but are encouraged to do so, as a way to develop their skills. Thanks for visiting and we look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings.
On May 2, 2015, Metro Camera Club will host a Special Saturday Workshop concentrating on Portrait Lighting and Tabletop Photography.
Randy Taylor from Taylor Made Photography in Edmond will be providing instruction for portrait lighting and posing. Club member Janet Steyer will again provide a huge display of tabletop set-ups demonstrating different lighting for small still-life photography.
The Workshop starts at 10:00 AM (set-up people will need to be there at 8:30 AM) and continues until 3:00 PM. Asking for a few volunteers to help set up room, put out chairs and help members with bringing in equipment, etc.
A charge of $10.00 per person for the Workshop. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
Mr. Taylor will begin portrait instruction promptly at 10:00 AM until noon. During lunch and until 3:00 PM members and guests will be encouraged to use the same equipment used during the lecture to practice the art of portrait photography.
Bring your camera to the Workshop. Be sure your camera is able to hook up with the studio sync cords or wireless triggers.. Check with your local photo dealer or myself for help in this area.
Models will be present and it is customary to provide courtesy photos (usually 8 x 10) or a CD for their efforts.
